Eight companies reportedly bid for the stake in SE, but all of them bid for its non-nuclear, conventional power production assets and not for its nuclear division. CEZ has said it is interested in both conventional and nuclear assets, a major factor in helping it join the bidding.
According to the Slovak government's privatization advisor, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), another company has also expressed interest in joining the bidding alongside CEZ. PwC has refused to identify this second late bidder.
